Earth Dreaming

I am grateful for an alive and steadily ever-growing and present dream that gives me no choice but to follow and create it!

Actually, it's more than a dream. It's a crystal clear Spirit-led direction to which I am fully open and listening, with every deliberate step walking into its open arms.

Since my late teens, I have been aware of an inner conviction and mission to do no harm and live on this Planet as gently and mindfully as I can and to celebrate in every possible way her brilliant radiance and abundant offerings.

As an Empath, I deeply feel the pain and sorrow of the harm, destruction and disregard and the excitement and joy of meeting and connecting with fellow Earth lovers and protectors.

This 'direction' has many layers and facets and has been building and getting clearer, louder, bigger and wider.

I once believed that realizing it in its fullness involved moving outside the city onto a piece of land. But this is not the case! In its intricacy, it involves:

  • Saying goodbye to gas reliance to heat my home and hot water tank and, alternatively, installing a heat pump to achieve both, which can also cool the home in the hot summers, which takes electricity, which I plan to achieve as much as possible from the glorious sun.
  • To use a heat pump and solar panels, I needed to upgrade my electrical panel and to do that, a cable to the electrical box outside of my front yard required updated past 1980s standards as this is a 1972-built home.
  • In addition, the roof was really old, so I could only install solar panels once it was upgraded, which I have now done- it's metal and also intentionally perfect for collecting rainwater for creating an abundant food forest.
  • To achieve those goals, I needed to learn a ton. I took a Permaculture design course last fall, a rainwater harvesting class, and completed a final project in both and now 'Garden Strategies for year-round nutrition.
  • I have cleared the front yard, removed thousands of pounds of rocks and roots and am amending the soil. It is mostly ready, and I am finalizing lining up all exciting plants/shrubs/trees and have many seedlings growing and almost ready to be planted outside!

It feels like I have been climbing a steep mountain with many things to learn and coordinate, meeting setbacks, frustrations and challenges, and now I am getting closer to the peak!

I am grateful for the amazing people that have appeared and are appearing to help and offer their wisdom, guidance, knowledge, and expertise to make this dream a reality.

Some people have questioned why I want to do all this and "waste money" on such a venture. I have not said, "My Spirit is guiding me," but I could have.

It is truly incredible what we can achieve when propelled by a dream that is bigger than us!

For me, it's learning to provide some (or all) of our nutritional needs, building community, nourishing our soils, composting, buying and supporting local, harvesting rainwater, and so much more.

I am aware that there is no perfect solution, but we can certainly do our best in our choices, intentions, and decisions.

I started a publication on Medium called "Thriving Planet Vibrant Souls" a month ago with the intention of creating community to connect with, share and inspire each other:

Mindful & Aligned living & actions that create & support Thriving & Inner Vibrance. Earth & Animal Care & Action, Mindful Community & the Interconnectedness between the Earth, Self & Community. 🌿🌾

I am so grateful to Anu Maarit Simard for being the first (and a two-time contributor) and Frank Ontario | empathy, logic, love. and Kimmy Foulds for their vibrant contribution and for those who feel connected with the publication's purpose and intention.

I wholeheartedly welcome you and your meaningful voice, heart, passion and action!
